By Adam Ray Palmer This feature does exactly what it says in the title. Some reviews of films, from over the weekend – basically. No matter the genre, nor the year… I basically watch a streaming service, or a DVD, and do a little bite-sized reviews for you to agree or disagree to. Out of the three, let me know which film you prefer! American Psycho Kicking off the isolation period of movie-watching is the Christian Bale-helmed American Psycho. Bale plays a wealthy New York City investment banking executive, Patrick Bateman, who tries to hide his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies. This 90-minute flick never lets up, you are just waiting for the impressive Bale to switch it up and deliver sequence after sequence of violence. This movie exploded Christian’s career into new heights, and the once Batman never looked back. It’s a brilliant movie, anchored with an even better performance. Go stream on Netflix. Cineroom’s rating: 4 stars Interstellar As sci-fi movies go, they don’t get much better than this. Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar is a masterpiece. In a nutshell, a team of explorers travel through a wormhole in space in an attempt to ensure humanity's survival. I mean, that is a very light summary of the plot, but if it is good enough for IMDB, then it’s good enough for me! Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain are all on point here. McConaughey in particular is a marvel. His character arc in Interstellar is amazing. Our journey is completely dictated by him, like we are alongside him the whole way. On top of the performances… the score, editing, framing and visual effects are all majestic. Just clear yourself of 150 minutes and sit back and enjoy. Cineroom’s rating: 5 stars I Love You, Man As comedy movies go… you catch my drift! I Love You, Man is quite possibly the funniest comedy movie ever in my opinion. It’s so relatable, the quips are second to none and the chemistry between Jason Segel and Paul Rudd is nothing short of magic. The plot revolves around friendless Peter Klaven (Rudd) who goes on a series of man-dates to find a Best Man for his wedding. But, when his insta-bond with his new B.F.F. (Segel) puts a strain on his relationship with his fiancée, can the trio learn to live happily ever after? Well, I won’t ruin the end but it’s pretty obvious! There’s some stellar scenes in this movie that will be quotable forever. It’s just about in the cult classic category and it just gets better with every viewing. Go buy this now!
