By Adam Ray Palmer Today’s review is the first blockbuster of the year, if not THE blockbuster of the year. The anticipation for this movie has been huge and now it has arrived. Batman v Superman is not only the ‘Dawn of Justice’ but also the dawn of an incoming franchise that will boast at least half a dozen films before 2020. But first, Zack Snyder (director) and David S Goyer (writer) continue with the reigns from 2013s Man of Steel and have now brought this colossal 2016 picture to the cinematic table… 28/3/2016 Zootropolis Film Review.By Adam Ray Palmer Today’s Easter Monday review is a little different to most reviews on Cineroom. We are going to start covering a wider range of films and today’s picture is a good start. In the past, we have only reviewed a handful of movies aimed at children and Zootropolis is the next film to be added to that list. Zootropolis is the latest addition to Disney’s collection with yet another heart-warming message sewn into an entertaining plot… 24/3/2016 10 Cloverfield Lane Film Review.By Adam Ray Palmer Today’s review comes courtesy of the mega-producer himself JJ Abrams – no, not another episode of Star Wars just yet but instead, the sequel to Cloverfield. 10 Cloverfield Lane opened in theatres last Friday and has been taking the box office by storm. The sci-fi-drama-thriller has been getting great reviews from around the world and I am about to give it another positive one too… 21/3/2016 The Departed Film Review.By Adam Ray Palmer Today’s review is a little bit retro. I’ve chosen Martin Scorsese’s 2006 cop thriller The Departed. It’s hard to believe that this film is now a decade old. This picture is littered with Hollywood A-listers including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen and Ray Winstone just to name a few. Following on from Gangs of New York and The Aviator, this film continued the blossoming friendship between Marty and Leo. Scorsese also won his solitary Oscar (so far) for this film… 17/3/2016 Amy Film Review.By Adam Ray Palmer Today’s review is a documentary film about a gifted singer-songwriter that tragically died in 2011. Asif Kapadia, along with contributors including her colleagues, friends and family, made a documentary about Amy Winehouse late last year. The film received critical acclaim including an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Bafta for being the best documentary from the past 12 months. The film hasn’t been too well received by some of her family members but that is to be discussed… By Adam Ray Palmer Today’s review is the third instalment in the Divergent Series. The franchise began in 2014 with Divergent, swiftly followed by Insurgent last year; and now we have 2016s Allegiant. Allegiant marks the start of the blockbusters for 2016 with Shailene Woodley and Theo James both reprising their roles as the love-struck couple fighting for the divergents. As we gear up for the finale, does this film wet our appetite? We have the details… 8/3/2016 Grimsby Film Review.By Adam Ray Palmer Today we have another comedy review following on from the debacle that was Zoolander 2. This time around it's the turn of the Brits in Sacha Baron Cohen’s Grimsby. The film is also stars his wife Isla Fischer, British hard man Mark Strong and Aussie comedy star Rebel Wilson. Two things were present in my mind when I entered the theatre to see this film, and neither were positive… |
