By Adam Ray Palmer Today, I have a DVD review from 2013. I had been meaning to watch this film for a while but I only just managed to catch it over the Christmas break. The ever-so brilliant Channel 5 showed One Chance a few days after Christmas when everyone was lulling about on their sofas. If you never had a chance to see this comedic biopic then we will give you the lowdown and tell you whether it is worth searching out… 18/1/2016 The Revenant Film Review.By Adam Ray Palmer Today comes the review of the Oscar and Bafta-nominated, Golden Globe award-winning film The Revenant. This film has already cleared up the ‘big three’ at the Globes for ‘Best Picture’, ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Director’ with it being nominated in the same trio at every other award ceremony. Leonardo DiCaprio stars in the Oscar-Winning director Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s gruelling feature as the titular character Hugh Glass. British talents Tom Hardy and Will Poulter are on hand in supportive roles. Leo and the movie itself look nailed on for Oscar glory but is the film worthy of the potential victories or is it just because DiCaprio is long overdue? We will tell you… 12/1/2016 Creed Film Review.By Adam Ray Palmer 40 years ago, Rocky won the ‘Best Picture’ award at the Oscars in 1976. This led to five sequels with the last one being in 2006. Now, in 2016, Rocky Balboa returns but in a spin off film. Creed is the ‘seventh’ movie in the Rocky franchise starring Michael B. Jordan as the titular character. Sylvester Stallone returns as the famous boxer once again but this time in the role of a boxing coach. Creed is trying to branch out and be a standalone film, but does it succeed in doing so? It has the old guard in Sly, the fresh talent in Michael and also an up and coming director championing its cause. 10/1/2016 The Hateful Eight Film Review.By Adam Ray Palmer This fine Sunday’s review comes in the form of the mighty Quentin Tarantino’s eighth film The Hateful Eight. This Wyoming western comes just over three years after his last western outing Django Unchained starring Jamie Foxx and Oscar winner Christoph Waltz. Quentin turns to his old crew Tim Roth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen and veteran Kurt Russell for support this time around. Tarantino knows this talented cast, he knows the western genre, and he knows how to deliver an award-winning film. Is The Hateful Eight another blinder to add to his collection? 5/1/2016 Joy Film Review.By Adam Ray Palmer It’s only five days into January and we have been spoilt with films already. The first of January gave us two glorious movies; one being The Danish Girl and the other being Joy which is today’s review. David O. Russell and Jennifer Lawrence team up once again to anchor their third film together as they tell the story of an incredible woman documenting her trials and tribulations but more importantly her success. There is so much more to this film than what just meets the eye as you would expect with Russell. Plus, Lawrence does not disappoint in her role either. Let me divulge… |
