Your best 10 minutes this month... May'20.

Picture
Our title doesn’t lie. In this feature each month, we round up the five best trailers from the past few weeks, so you don’t have to.

The trailers could quite simply be for any movie, all we know is, it’s certainly five of the best!

Buckle up, clear your diary… this is the best 10 minutes of your month…
SHIRLEY
Director: Josephine Decker
Writers: Sarah Gubbins (screenplay), Susan Scarf Merrell (novel)
Stars: Elisabeth Moss, Logan Lerman, Michael Stuhlbarg

Plot:
A famous horror writer finds inspiration for her next book after she and her husband take in a young couple.

Our verdict:
This movie debuted at the 2020 Berlinale to critical acclaim. Starring Elisabeth Moss, Logan Lerman and Michael Stuhlbarg; you know you are in for a horrific treat.
UNHINGED
Director: Derrick Borte
Writer: Carl Ellsworth
Stars: Russell Crowe, Jimmi Simpson, Gabriel Bateman

Plot:
Unhinged is a psychological thriller that takes something we've all experienced - road rage - to an unpredictable and terrifying conclusion.

Our verdict:
Road rage and Russell Crowe, what more could you possibly want from a movie? Surely that plot above whets your appetite!
THE WRONG MISSY
Director: Tyler Spindel
Writers: Chris Pappas, Kevin Barnett
Stars: David Spade, Lauren Lapkus, Nick Swardson

Plot:
Tim thinks he's invited the woman of his dreams on a work retreat to Hawaii, realising too late he mistakenly texted someone from a nightmare blind date.

Our verdict:
Not the most original plot, but David Spade is always a sarcastic and witty hilarity in any movie he appears in. A decent Netflix watch on a cosy evening.
SNOWPIERCER
Creator: Graeme Manson
Stars: Jennifer Connelly, Daveed Diggs, Mickey Sumner

Plot:
Set over seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centres on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe.

Our verdict:
We have had the movie of Snowpiercer a few years ago, and now we have the TV adaptation of Bong Joon-ho’s thriller. Plus, thanks to Parasite, Bong is well and truly on the worldwide map now getting the plaudits he deserves.
THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND
Director: Judd Apatow
Writers: Judd Apatow, Pete Davidson
Stars: Pete Davidson, Maude Apatow, Marisa Tomei

Plot:
Scott has been a case of arrested development since his firefighter dad died. He spends his days smoking weed and dreaming of being a tattoo artist until events force him to grapple with his grief and take his first steps forward in life.

Our verdict:
Judd Apatow is back five years after directing his last feature film, Trainwreck. This movie has had very little said about it and the anticipation is high. Judging by the trailer, we are in for a treat.
