​Episode three of ‘Battle of the Sequels’ features the behemoth of the movie trilogies: The Star Wars original trilogy.
 
The Star Wars series has seen massive expansion since its beginnings in the 70s and 80s with a further three prequel films in the early noughties, and now the new trilogy of films under the stewardship of J.J Abrams. With the addition of Rogue One and various animated series, the Star Wars universe isn’t showing signs of slowing down.
 
But first, the battle of the original George Lucas three… this is going to be the hardest one yet!

Around this time last year, we published a feature all about 2015 and the crazy year it had at the box office with billion-dollar pictures left, right and centre.
 
2016 has been a little different. Of course, we mean in the movie world, obviously outside of the film industry everything seems to have messed right up.
 
2015 was the year of profit with records broken every month. Now though, 2016 will have a title... the year of Disney…

​Following on with our annual tradition, this is the third instalment in two years on predicting what films in the looming 365 days will be a box office smash.
 
2015 had five films that toppled the 10-figure sum which would have been great if we chose those five – SPOLIER – we didn’t. Last year, only three films hit the billion-dollar mark so there’s no way we could have succeeded (we got one right).
 
However, in 2017, we are certain we have found five films that will deliver the big bucks. Do you agree with our picks…?
