Picture
Reporting live (well, not quite) to you from Cineroom HQ, we have the latest reaction to the big news stories over the past 30 days.

As always, we will present you with the facts, and then our take on them. We may have guest reporters every now and then – so look out for opportunities!

This just in… here’s news story number one…
TAIKI WATITI TO DEVELOP A STAR WARS MOVIE
The facts:
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lucasfilm has approached Taika Waititi to develop a new film.

Our take:
After enjoying huge success with Thor, and of he is making a sequel there too, Disney have wasted no time to start talks. His connections with the saga are not to sniffed at either, he has already played the bounty hunting droid IG-11. This would be a match made in heaven. The Star Wars universe could certainly benefit from his humorous style.
BILLIE EILISH IS THE THEME OF BOND
The facts:
The EON Productions team has announced that 18-year-old pop star Billie Eilish has co-written and will perform the theme for the latest, No Time To Die.

Our take:
One of the youngest current superstars on the planet, has become the youngest ever recording artist to write and perform a James Bond theme song. Eilish has worked on the theme with her brother and fellow Grammy nominee Finneas, who both repeatedly bang out hits. It’s certainly an interesting choice and direction, but one we are looking forward to.
DISNEY PLUS TO LAUNCH IN THE UK
The facts:
Disney have officially announced that the UK will finally be able to use the streaming service from 24th March.

Our take:
Streaming services are taking over. Prime and Netflix are giants in the field already and judging by the highly anticipated wait for the UK to get access to Disney Plus, this service will also be a huge hit. It’ll cost approximately £6 a month and you can enjoy titles like The Mandalorian and basically anything Marvel has ever produced.
RICKY GERVAIS KILLS IT AT THE GLOBES
The facts:
Ricky Gervais' monologue at the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards was certainly an interesting watch.

Our take:
Ricky Gervais' monologue at the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards was certainly an absolute delight. The awards show was completely taken over online and around the world by the British comedian who roasted anyone in sight. It was refreshing and hilarious in equal measure. Check it out below.
