![]() So we are a few months into 2017 now and before we forget, we want to reflect on the past 12 months with our main achievements. 2016 was a fantastic year for Cineroom with our most festival visits, new writers, more interviews and a boost in hits and unique visitors. Below, we want to be transparent and detail our highlights of the past 12 months… In 2016, we published a record amount of reviews and features when comparing to our previous incarnations, Movie Addicts UK and Adam Ray Palmer Writes. In 2016, we completed 99 reviews and 100 features – an incredible amount for a minimal number of writers. Our most shared review in 2016 was our review of War On Everyone back in February 2016 whilst attending the Berlin Film Festival. This was shared 132 times on Facebook including shares from the cast and crew. Our most shared feature was our interview with the cast of The Legend of Tarzan. Our Editor-in-Chief had a chat with Margot Robbie and Alexander Skarsgård about all things jungle and that. This leads nicely to our festival visits and total number of interviewees. We attended four festivals in 2016 including Berlin, Venice, London and The Short Cinema Festival. We conducted many interviews throughout the year with a collective of 12 interviewees. They were Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, Simon Helberg, Charley Rothwell-Palmer, Thomas Turgoose, Martin Koolhoven, Margot Robbie, Alexander Skarsgård, Ewan McGregor, Naomie Harris, Damien Lewis and Stellan Skarsgård. In 2016, we had seven features/reviews composed by guest writers. Two of them were by guest readers and the other five were by Lorna Baker who has now become a regular contributor to Cineroom. We also produced nine CineFilms during 2016. Four were press conferences from Venezia72, four were small brand films and the final film was a vlog of Berlinale66.
On the social scene, we have had a great 2016 too. Our followers have more than doubled and we ended the year with 2,189 followers on Twitter. On Facebook, we grew from around 100 likes to 601 likes when 2017 began. On another social note, our incredible readers also voted for us in the UK Blog Awards and helped Cineroom achieve a top eight finalist position for the awards ceremony in April. This is the first award we have been nominated for so thank you all. Finally, we know a lot of websites do not like to disclose their figures because they can be manipulated, however, we will share our most visited day for Cineroom. Our most successful day in 2016 was September 6th – whilst attending the Venice Film Festival. In 24 hours, we had 1,115 unique people visit our website. We have since beat that figure in 2017 already, so growth is happening!
This just leaves us to say one thing. Thank you for supporting Cineroom up to now, 2016 was incredible and foundations have been set for better things. Let’s enjoy the journey and see what 2017 brings us all. Leave a Reply. |
