2020 is set to be a big year for Cineroom when it comes to festivals, with the hope to be covering more cinema events then we have ever done before!
Our next stop is the Glasgow Film Festival (26th Feb – 8th Mar), this being our second time visiting in the last three years. Have a look at our rundown of movies we are seeing… Reporting live (well, not quite) to you from Cineroom HQ, we have the latest reaction to the big news stories over the past 30 days.
As always, we will present you with the facts, and then our take on them. We may have guest reporters every now and then – so look out for opportunities! This just in… here’s news story number one… By Adam Ray Palmer
Yes, this feature is back after an 18-month hiatus! It’s also the first ‘Sequels Battle’ I have written as usual it’s a guest writer’s role. However, I wanted to tackle one of the biggest battles of them all, and that is of course the eight-film series called The Fast Saga. But this battle is a little different, there’s versus matches and everything! 15/2/2020 Introducing: The "5 & 1" Method.Let’s be honest folks, anyone who is in a relationship, or even just a friendship, has faced that annoying, monotonous and enduring agony of choosing a film with a loved one or a mate right?
Some people love a 'rom-com'; others love a 'horror flick' - and don’t forget the arty kind of human who love an 'avant-garde special'. So how do you get around this deeply concerning escapade? Well, we believe we have found the solution… Our title doesn’t lie. In this feature each month, we round up the five best trailers from the past few weeks, so you don’t have to.
The trailers could quite simply be for any movie, all we know is, it’s certainly five of the best! Buckle up, clear your diary… this is the best 10 minutes of your month… With streaming services galore and DVDs becoming a thing of the past, it’s important to make the right decision when adding to your collection.
Each month, we look at what movies deserve a space on your home-cinema shrine… (commonly known as a DVD shelf). Here’s five films that we think have potential to be bought in a shop near you… 10/2/2020 92nd Academy Awards: A review.Last night, something amazing happened at the 2020 Academy Awards… That’s right, the show really wasn’t that bad!
The speeches were decent, the comedy was there throughout and some of the awards went against the bookie’s favourites. But before we see who won what, here’s our mini review… Like the Golden Globes and the BAFTAs, it wouldn’t be awards season if Cineroom didn’t do a feature on predicting the Oscars 2020 winners as well.
So, for the final time this year, we have gathered all our knowledge and scribbled down who we think will be taking home a golden statuette for their downstairs loo. Here we go… 3/2/2020 BAFTAs 73rd edition: A review. What an evening the 2020 BAFTAs was last night. We had the standard award giving, but we also had some tip-top speeches.
When it comes to our predictions, we were not far wrong. Predictability definitely wasn’t on the cards when it came to the “thank yous” though. Without further ado, let’s get into it… 1/2/2020 STN February 2020 write up.By Adam Ray Palmer
*This is a monthly newspaper column This month is a big one… for two reasons. Firstly, the Oscars are happening in a few days’ time, and secondly, the three films I have for you this month are utterly brilliant. You must seek them out... |
