The golden oldie feature continues on Cineroom! Yes, it’s the revisit of the classic ‘Acquire, Hire of Fire’ feature – but this time with me! How does it work I hear you ask? Well, if you Acquire a film, it means you love it. If you ‘Hire’ a film, it makes you like and would rent again; and of course, if you ‘Fire’ a film, you probably hate it. I asked a reader to give me the topic this time, so here is the ‘Apatow’ edition… Reporting live (well, not quite) to you from Cineroom HQ, we have the latest reaction to the big news stories over the past 30 days.
As always, we will present you with the facts, and then our take on them. We may have guest reporters every now and then – so look out for opportunities! This just in… here’s news story number one… When a new movie is upon us all, what’s the first thing we do? Check IMDB for any updates, then probably watch the trailer, and then perhaps even check alternative posters… well we do!
In this feature, we want to shine a light on the artists who create those complementary artworks for the production companies. We have a stellar foursome for you… Our title doesn’t lie. In this feature each month, we round up the five best trailers from the past few weeks, so you don’t have to.
The trailers could quite simply be for any movie, all we know is, it’s certainly five of the best! Buckle up, clear your diary… this is the best 10 minutes of your month… 16/4/2020 Where to buy cool film stuff. Now come on, we are a film website after all. So, it would only be fitting if we talk about all the cool film stuff you can buy online.
In this feature, we will be looking at all sorts of websites where you can buy posters, memorabilia, stickers and much more. Let’s get into it. 14/4/2020 Five must-see biopics (2015-2019).By Adam Ray Palmer
There’s been a number of great biopics in the past five years, and I wanted to share with you a handful of movies that I think are must-see life stories. To be firm though, the biopics below are categorised as a true biopic, a film about a person’s life; not an important part of a life. Now that’s said, let’s dive in! With streaming services galore and DVDs becoming a thing of the past, it’s important to make the right decision when adding to your collection.
Each month, we look at what movies deserve a space on your home-cinema shrine… (commonly known as a DVD shelf). Here’s five films that we think have potential to be bought in a shop near you… 5/4/2020 STN April 2020 write up.By Adam Ray Palmer
*This is a monthly newspaper column Last month, Cineroom hit the heights of Scotland (Glasgow Film Festival to be exact) and so I thought I’d share with you two mini reviews of the best films I saw there. Following those, I’ll cover a movie that, as time of writing, will be released later in the year if Coronavirus hasn’t gotten to it! Anyway, let’s talk about a couple of independent movies first, hopefully they’ll go viral… This month is a little different to every other month so far this year as, well, there is no cinema!
For April, and possibly the next couple of months, we will detail what’s coming up on Netflix that you should definitely catch a glimpse of! Here’s five films that we think deserve your attention… |
