With streaming services galore and DVDs becoming a thing of the past, it’s important to make the right decision when adding to your collection.
Each month, we look at what movies deserve a space on your home-cinema shrine… (commonly known as a DVD shelf).
Here’s five films that we think have potential to be bought in a shop near you…
THE TAX COLLECTOR

A "tax collector" for a crime lord finds his family's safety compromised when his boss' old rival shows up in LA and upends his business.
David Ayer x Shia LaBeouf = a well worth DVD ownership. This is probably more of a DVD renting than a buy but either way, inject yourself some Tax Collector.

Stars: Celia Imrie, Rupert Penry-Jones, Shelley Conn
A young woman wishes to fulfill her mother's dream of opening her own bakery in Notting Hill, London. To do this, she enlists the help of an old friend and her grandma.
A great movie to buy for a loved one like a mother or grandma. It completes the checklist of what is needed for a senior lady. Own it for their shelves.
Director: Eric Demeusy
Writers: Eric Demeusy (story), Eric Demeusy
Stars: Ryan Masson, Highdee Kuan, Christian Prentice
A young NASA JPL scientist is abducted by extra-terrestrials but when no one believes his story he becomes obsessed with finding proof which leads him on a journey of discovery.
This would make a decent download. Picture this… a Sunday afternoon, lying on a sofa at 4pm, and scrolling through iTunes to purchase a film… Proximity would be the one.
SORRY WE MISSED YOU
Director: Ken Loach
Writer: Paul Laverty (screenplay)
Stars: Kris Hitchen, Debbie Honeywood, Rhys Stone
Hoping that self-employment through gig economy can solve their financial woes, a hard-up UK delivery driver and his wife struggling to raise a family end up trapped in the vicious circle of this modern-day form of labour exploitation.
A Ken Loach standard film that is well worth your time. It has heart, a powerful narrative and terrific performances from the cast. Own it.
MARRIAGE STORY (CRITERION COLLECTION)
Director: Noah Baumbach
Writer: Noah Baumbach
Stars: Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson, Julia Greer
Noah Baumbach's incisive and compassionate look at a marriage breaking up and a family staying together.
We cannot speak highly enough of this gem. Now Criterion has picked up the movie, this has to be on every household’s DVD shelf. It packs a punch with emotion as well as amusing quips – it’s an utter powerhouse triumph.
